reading time: ca. 1 min

Quick ice cream without ice cream maker

Preparation time: 5 mins + 3 hours freezing time
Main ingredients: banana, chocolate, orange
difficulty level: easy
serves: 1-2
suitable for: vegan, lactose-free, gluten-free, nut-free, paleo, raw food, low-fat

I'm having PMS right now (yep), so i'm moody and aching and want to curl up into a ball of sorrow and self-pity. Instead i'm treating myself to - guess what - some nicecream! This time it's dark chocolate (to satisfy my PMS cravings) with orange juice, orange zest and loads of cacao nibs.

3 large ripe bananas
around 1-2 tbsp cacao powder
juice of 1/2 orange
some orange zest

cacao nibs and orange zest groats to garnish

- a high-speed blender or food processor (NO NEED FOR AN ICE CREAM MAKER!)

First, squeeze your orange.
Break your pre-skinned, frozen bananas into pieces and add to your food processor.

Blend for a few seconds at a time, add the orange juice, then add the cacao powder.

Keep blending until creamy smooth.
Using a spatula or spoon, scrape your Chocolate Orange ice cream into a big bowl and sprinkle with cacao nibs and orange zest.

Share with your favourite human around (or curl up in your favourite PJs in bed) and enjoy!

Thank you so much, Lori and Cathy, for featuring me on their blog over on Tickle My Tastebuds this week! :)
