Brownies made with KIDNEY BEANS? It's a Christmas miracle!

Now, all jokes aside. I am not kidding when I tell you that it is not only possible, but also quite delicious!

They are fudgy, chocolaty, healthy and quite filling. See for yourselves!

Following my recipe on Raw + cooked Sushi with raw-vegan Carrot Hummus from last year and my recent Yellow Sushi recipe with turmeric rice, me and my flatmates made a huge amount of vegan and non-vegan Sushi last weekend in celebration of 1st Advent, so i needed to share this.

Our Sunday Sushi Making included an inside-out roll and a batch of yummy vegan Hummus!

Preparation time: 15-20 mins
Main ingredients: oats, bananas, non-dairy milk
difficulty level: easy

Good morning, pancake!

'Scuse me? An egg-less, wheat-less, milk-less pancake? How's that gonna work? Let me tell you - it works pretty well. I made these pretty babies for my beloved flatmates last weekend, and they were pretty impressed with the outcome! Right, guys? (raising eyebrow)

Instead of wheat flour, you can use oats, buckwheat, almond flour, even coconut flour. Instead of eggs we use flaxseed and bananas. And instead of dairy milk we go with non-dairy milk - i recommend the creamy almond milk, but any other kind will work fine too!

random side note: ever since last Thursday you can actually add me and follow my blog on Google+ to get your updates instantly. Just throwin that out there :)

Quick 2-ingredient ice cream without ice cream maker

Preparation time: 5 mins + 3 hours freezing time
Main ingredients: banana, chocolate/cacao beans

...And my Ice Cream Galore [summer special] ist hereby over! I can't believe how fast i posted these 20 raw vegan ice creams. So now i'ts back to "New Posts on Wednesdays & Sundays". But first i gotta throw some glitter for the grand gelato finale and present to you the coolest raw ice cream ever (#gettit? cool.) Anyway - i saved the best until last...

STRACCIATELLA!

Inspired by Harriet's stracciatella gelato over here (using coconut milk), i decided to make a raw vegan, fat-free and of course dairy-free version, using only bananas and cacao. Sound crazy? Well it's crazy good.

Quick 4-ingredient ice cream without ice cream maker

Preparation time: 5 mins + 3 hours freezing time
Main ingredients: banana, cocoa
difficulty level: easy
serves: 1
suitable for: vegan, lactose-free, gluten-free, nut-free, paleo, raw food, and delicious "even so"

Chocolate ice cream wasn't enough for you? How 'bout a big bowl of DOUBLE chocolate ice cream then? :) This will definitely satisfy any chocolate craving you might have.

NOTE: Do prepare the chocolate sauce ahead of your ice cream! When i made this I did it the other way around, and as you can see my ice cream was already melting by the time i was finally done with the sauce... (see below)

Quick 3-ingredient ice cream without ice cream maker

Preparation time: 5 mins + 3 hours freezing time
Main ingredients: pineapple, coconut, banana
difficulty level: easy
serves: 1
suitable for: vegan, lactose-free, gluten-free, nut-free, paleo, raw food, and delicious "even so"

Piña Colada in ice cream form? - Yes please!

Instead of rum, coconut cream and pineapple juice we got pineapple cubes, shredded coconut, and of course the obligatory banana to make it creamier. You could also add in some coconut milk though.

Honestly, i prefer this lush tropical "nice cream" a dozen times over the actual cocktail - it doesn't give you a hangover, it will make you feel energized instead of drowsy, and it's just much more fun to sit at the pool and spoon up a big heap of Piña Colada Ice Cream - especially when it's served in a pineapple bowl :)

Quick 2-ingredient ice cream without ice cream maker

Preparation time: 5 mins + 3 hours freezing time
Main ingredients: banana, mint
difficulty level: easy
serves: 1
suitable for: vegan, lactose-free, gluten-free, nut-free, paleo, raw food, and delicious "even so"

How 'bout a bowl of cool mint ice cream on a hot summer's day?

Uh yeah, you've come to the right place my dear.

This is one of my favourite nice creams - okay, all of them are kind of my favourite because i could eat them all day long, but this is really one of the best, along with my Matcha ice cream and plain Chocolate ice cream!

Happy July 4 to those of you living in the USA!
As you can see, it's not a red-white-blue but a green day for me :)

Preparation time: 5 mins
Main ingredients: banana, spinach
difficulty level: easy
makes: ~ 1000ml
suitable for: vegan, lactose-free, gluten-free, nut-free, paleo, raw food, and delicious "even so"

It's no secret that i am a fan of green smoothies (it's seriously the best way to get a whole lot of amazing nutrients in your body before the day has even really begun), and since i recently read Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book i thought it would be perfect to make a Jungle-themed smoothie.

Hello lovelies,
it's my 200th post today, hurray :) such a cool coincidence! and cool leads to ice cream, so it's all one huge meaningful circle, ahaha! (okay, i'll stop now. but it's honestly a coincidence. and the lame pun was honestly just a spontaneous brain fart, lol.)

More importantly it's SUMMER TIME which for me means ICE CREAM TIME, whoop-whoop! And since people seem think that vegans - or even worse: raw vegans - can't eat anything but carrots and apples and lettuce, i'm gonna prove you wrong, my dear.

So over the course of July i will present to you a total of - cling on tight - 21 raw vegan Ice Creams. Oh yes, you've read right. I have made all these delicious ice cream creations over the past few weeks, which i will now share with you and your tummies. There will be a blog post every single day for the month of July, until you get sick of it - hopefully you won't. I'm even thinking about changing my blog name to The Ice Cream Girl, lol. (not really though).

Raw vegan ice creams are super easy to make and super good for you: free of unnatural sugars, processed ingredients, animal products, and chemicals. Apart from that it does not require much time, money, or many ingredients to prepare this beauty. Oh and it does NOT require an ice cream maker either! How great is that? So if you do not have the luxury of an actual ice cream maker, use a blending machine, a food processor, a juicer, or even a hand-held blender. I always use my high-speed blender! (this one)

Knock yourself out my dear.

After me babbling on about books and films last time it calls for a sweet and simple post today. May i present to you MASCARA MARILYN. Yep, that's right. What you're looking at is the result of me playing around with two pretty-much-empty mascaras that were waiting to be thrown away - until i decided it would be a great idea to use the mascara applicator and the remaining "paint" to make a clumsy portrait of Marilyn Monroe. Yeah... she'd probably be turning in her grave if she knew, lol.

The downside to this is that first of all the thick brush isn't exactly the most precise drawing tool, and second of all you cannot undo anything, which bugs the heck out of me (for example the shade above her right nostril which i'm frickin' itching to correct -.-) And i don't really understand why some parts seem to be black and others brown because the two mascara bottles i was using were both black! But hey it was actually loads of fun and now i have black spotted hands and i feel like i have brilliantly recycled my mascara and did a good thing, haha! (by the way, i used this picture as a template) And no, i will not google if other people have painted with mascara - because i'd probably find out that it's already a thing and then i won't feel as inventive and brilliant any more :'D okay, maybe i will actually google it.

But first let me finish off this post with a quote (not a Marilyn quote though) that i stumbled upon recently and wanted to share:

"It took a few years to be comfortable in my own skin..
and just like everyone else, i still struggle with it at times.
So knowing my strength and my worth,
gives me the freedom to be who i am and realize,
"I'm not always going to fit everyone".
But it's like music or any type of art,
if it makes you feel genuine and complete, it's always worth the risk."

I love books, and i love hearts, so to me this is perfection ♡
It's also great gift for e.g. Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, Birthdays... These little bookmark hearts are very easy to make - the tutorial i followed can be viewed here. All you need is a square piece of paper in any shade of red. I simply used a red, a coral and a baby pink one from my memo cube!

Everyone take this day to thank your mamas, the person who gives unconditional love and support every day. They love us whether we fail or succeed, whether we're right or wrong, and whether we thank them for it or not. That is such a special bond and love we so often take for granted. So give your mama a kiss and tell her you love her! ❤️

As i lead a plant-based, mostly raw food life, i have to get my daily dose of fruits and veggies big time - and to be honest: i'm not the biggest fan of greens. So i've chosen the easiest, fastest, and yummiest way to consume a bunch of leaves. A meal in a glass. The Green Smoothie.

(\(\

((') (') Good morning, Easter bunnies!

This is a family tradition. Every year at Easter we make our very special Easter Buns where we shape the dough into Easter-themed --- like bunnies, roosters, chicks, eggs, sheep, ladybugs, braids and – for some weird reason that I can't remember – owls, hedgehogs, unicorns and Cheshire cats! It's a great breakfast for Easter Sunday or Monday to make with your kids, family or friends. The more the merrier :)

When I was a baby-faced little Cheshire cat myself (see proof below) we always used a German recipe for Quarkölteig, a dough made with curd cheese, but lately we've switched over to a less-oily yeast dough. Today, I want to share our yeast dough recipe for whimsical (vegan) Easter buns with you!

Scroll down for the recipe and some fun!

Yay, i just finished my very last seminar paper and my internship report! And since i milk every reason to celebrate to make some rawmazing food, i had to make FRESH HOMEMADE ALMOND MILK today. Makes sense, right? Right.

Who knew you could get crafty with walnut shells? My granny actually gave me that idea when i was visiting her last month, and i love it! Such an adorable and easy way to recycle walnut shells. These are great to make with your family during the Easter holidays, don't you think?

Hello there little crafty bunnies :)
i promised there would be more DIYs, and so i deliver! Today we're making "Sleepy Bunny Bags" that can be used as lavender bags or gift/candy pouches, just in time for Easter season. They are inspired by this post by probablyactually, and I'm using the template by Merrilee from her original Bunny Candy Pouch at mer mag.

Easter Eggs

Preparation time: 15 mins (+ 20 mins refrigeration)
Main ingredients: buckwheat, raisins, coconut
difficulty level: easy
makes: 15-20 eggs
suitable for: vegan, lactose-free, gluten-free, nut-free, paleo, raw food, and delicious "even so"

Now who says you can't have Easter Eggs on a raw vegan lifestyle! Or cute Bunny Biscuits. Well, actually they are rather buns, i guess, but Bunny Buns sounds just too silly :)

These are really easy to make: No baking required, dairy-free, wheat-free (no, buckwheat is NOT a wheat - also, you can easily replace it with any other pseudo grain or oats or nut meal) and sugar-free.

Have fun!

Preparation time: 5 mins (+ 1 hour refrigeration)
Main ingredients: avocado, cocoa
difficulty level: easy
makes: 1 cup

Who doesn't love chocolate?

And who says, being raw vegan means you can't enjoy a nice batch of chocolate pudding?

So here's an easy way to whip up your very own, raw vegan, dairy-free and totally guilt-free Chocolate Pudding :)

Quick 2-ingredient ice cream using Japanese green tea

Main ingredients: banana, matcha
difficulty level: easy

Remember Matcha tea being one of my essentials last month? I think i even mentioned wanting to make some Matcha Ice Cream, so here it is!

A creamy dreamy Green Tea ice cream (-try saying that three times in a row and fast!-). Different approaches to this matcha creation can be found here (using coconut milk) or here (using cashews).

Mine is a fat-free, nut-free and of course dairy-free version, using only bananas and Matcha.
